New Dark Tower Cd & To All Aspiring ComposersPosted By: johnnyrayflynnDec 15 2005, 04:10 AM
LATEST NEWS: Twilight-Land's 2006 update is now online with the Dark Tower contest results posted. More will come online soon as well, like The Drawing of the Three feature, in a week or two. The features section will include some truly rare gems too, from composers like Danny Elfman and Bernard Herrmann, completely free to the public. (12/30/05)

The Dark Tower Score Project has gone through many trials and tribulations for the past couple of years and has adorned many different servers. Now, I'm happy to say, after much hair-pulling, it has a permanent home... AT LAST. I have registered a new electronic music label for up and coming artists called Twilight-Land Music, to promote and sell new works. It's actually advantageous to any aspiring people out there who want a venue from which to express them selves.

Anyway, back to The Gunslinger: The Score. It's selling again. I've also put up some high quality mp3 clips for you guys to feast on for the time being. Again, I put the Drawing of Three on hold to work on this for a while. The new CD should come out soon. I have all the rough sketches of the score completed in pencil and paper. It's likely I'll upload a few samples for you guys to preview while I sweat over the rest of it. It's likely I'll hire an orchestrator to come in too and check my work. Maybe then I can get this thing out there.
And after all of that I have two things I'm going to focus on... If there's any profit from this, I won't keep it. Instead (if there's enough of it)...
1) I'm going to order a couple hundred CDs manufactured so I can work through Amazon.com 2) I'm going to try and pay an artist like Michael Whelan to work on the cover artwork for any upcoming CDs.
All in all, I'm happy the way things are turning out. If you are an aspiring musician or composer, then don't be afraid to send me a line.

"Stephen and Marvel have decided to push back the launch of the Dark Tower comic books to 2007. "Given the size of the project and all the creative talent involved, I want to give the Marvel series all the room to breathe it needs and deserves," said Stephen. "I've got so much else going on in 2006 - two novels coming out, CELL and LISEY'S STORY, and the work with John Mellencamp on 'Ghost Brothers of Darkland County.' The Marvel series is going to be a blast, and I want to have the time to enjoy it."
The 1st issue of the yet-to-be-named first arc of the Dark Tower comic series will be shipping in February 2007. The last issue of this six-issue series will be shipping in July 2007. The first hardcover collection will be shipping in October 2007."
